The Kicker
But New York didn’t give up on me in any way…They just didn’t know what the hell to do with me, and if I’d waited for them to figure it out, I’d still be there, spending most of my time cutting words to fit art requirements and writing deks with gratuitous puns. And I don’t think that would have been good for anyone.
Least of all me, considering that Elizabeth Spiers gave me my first job in blogging, and in media. Originally recommended by A.J. Daulerio in November 2004 via the Blacktable (thanks AJ), revisited thanks to Krucoff in April 2005 (thanks Krucoff), and officially turned loose on the world of media blogging by Elizabeth (thanks Eliz), where I have remained ever since (though now it’s expanded to Twittering, Beasting, Researching and the occassional appearance on CNN). I always thought New York was stupid for not using her better, but selfishly, I can’t say I ever regretted it.
