Network For Good Rachel's Charities:
May 11 2010

I realized with a jolt the other day that Mediaite has been around for over a year. We didn’t launch until July 6, 2009, but by this time last year we were all ensconced in Dan’s living room, working off his wifi, drinking diet cokes from his fridge and hoping he’d never notice where Rex’s dog peed on the carpet. I remember Glynnis and I changing there to go to the Ellies and leaving all our stuff there, and then I forgot my keys so Dan had to come home from wherever he was to let us in (we were in the diner across the street having grilled cheese and fries - he came and joined us. We still giggle over that one). Glyn and I went to the Bolt Bus to DC for last year’s WHCD straight from the “office” - and I am not sure but I think by this time last year Colby and Glynnis had started wooing Steve (Glynnis had been subtly working on him pretty steadily; she had her ways). Robert Quigley was the first intern to start and later on in the month he was working out of the living room, too - he may have had the craziest yearlong trajectory of any of us. One year later, we’re in our third office - Downtown Records, been there done that - and are soon expecting an influx of interns to do it all again. They will be coming into a nice, professional office with plenty of room, and there’s no question that it’s better. But, what we had going on a year ago in Dan’s living room - that was pretty fun.

Anyhoo, all that because I found this song, which I don’t care what anyone says, it’ll always get me. 365 days from now, who the hell knows. Quigley, this one’s for you.
